Toronto City Clerk certifies by-election for mayor results and declares Olivia Chow as Mayor-elect

Toronto City Clerk, John D. Elvidge, has certified the official results for Toronto’s 2023 by-election for mayor and declared Olivia Chow as Mayor-elect. Election day was Monday, June 26.

The official declaration of results is available on the Toronto Elections Results webpage. Results are broken down by the total number of votes each mayoral candidate received.

A total of 725,333 ballots were cast in Toronto’s 2023 by-election for mayor.

The Mayor-elect will take office on Wednesday, July 12, after making the Declaration of Office with the City Clerk. The City of Toronto will share details about the Declaration ceremony when they are confirmed.

The official number of eligible voters will be available within 30 days of the by-election, after all revisions to the voters’ list made during advance vote or on election day have been processed.
