INC helps San Antonio Food Bank by donating more than 1,500 pounds of food

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) spent their Saturday morning treating residents by helping the San Antonio Food Bank on the 31st of October.

SAN ANTONIO–Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) from the Local Congregations of San Antonio and Universal City, District of Texas, brought several boxes of canned and packaged goods to the Food Bank at 10 a.m. with the goal of donating at least 1,000 pounds of food. They exceeded that goal by donating a total of 1,658 pounds worth of food.

Lauren Deal, interfaith engagement manager at the San Antonio Food Bank, said they could not be more grateful for Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the church’s executive minister and the congregation members for their help:

“On behalf of Eric Cooper [SA Food Bank director] and the 20,000 people we feed each week,” Deal said. “Brother Eduardo, thank you so much for using your voice to help those in need, to feed those in need in families and rejuvenate them every day. Thank you, thank you. Your congregations are amazing, full of life and I’m so proud to know them.
