Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) invites you to UGNAYAN SA TORONTO 2022 FORUM

Filipino Canadians are invited to the CFO Ugnayan sa Toronto 2022 Forum on October 13, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m (Eastern Time).

This event is co-organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto.

As part of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas -CFO’s mandate to strengthen Motherland ties with Filipino communities in Canada, the CFO Ugnayan sa Toronto 2022 Forum will focus on discussions about investment and business opportunities, philanthropic initiatives, online government services, and other engagements overseas Filipinos can avail themselves through the BaLinkBayan: Overseas Filipinos One Stop Online Portal for Diaspora Engagement.

A financial literacy seminar will also feature tips to help Filipinos overseas save and invest their hard-earned money.

About CFO:
The Commission of Filipino Overseas (CFO), is responsible for the welfare of Filipinos who are residing in other countries, thus, creating policies, programs, and projects with the following objectives:

  • to promote and protect the interests, rights, and welfare of overseas Filipinos;
  • to encourage and facilitate overseas Filipinos’ meaningful participation in the economic, social, cultural, and political development of the Philippines;
  • to strengthen overseas Filipinos’ ties to the Philippines through information and education programs; and
  • to assist overseas Filipinos in their reintegration into Philippine society.

 Functions and Responsibilities of the CFO

The CFO encourages the transfer of technology as well as the gift of material and financial resources from sources outside the Philippines for the purpose of supporting development initiatives in underprivileged areas within the Philippines. It also makes it possible for younger generations of Filipinos living abroad to learn about the country’s history and culture.

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas, sometimes known as CFO, is an agency within the Philippine government tasked with ensuring the health and safety of Filipinos employed overseas (OFWs).

In addition, the CFO encourages the growth of programs and services designed specifically for overseas Filipinos and works to strengthen the bonds between Filipinos who make their homes outside of the Philippines and their families back home.
